Boarding
FairHaven Farm offers full board only, at a cost of $400 per month.
The 8-horse barn
at FairHaven Farm was built in 2001, and is owned and managed by Abby
Meyer. The stalls are 12’x12’, with matted floors
and rolling doors. The amenities include a heated
lounge, storage area, and bathroom for the boarders.
The outdoor ring has excellent footing and exceptional
drainage. Boarders are welcome to bring in their
own instructors. Abby is happy to provide support
and encouragement for the less experienced riders, and is often
available to accompany the boarders on trail rides.
The barn routine
includes 2 feedings of grain per day and five feedings of hay.
The first feeding is at 6:30 a.m. and the last is around 9:30
p.m., when water buckets are refilled and the stalls are picked up.
FairHaven Farm provides Blue Seal feeds and high-quality local
hay. Boarders provide any supplements that they
wish their horses to receive.
The horses are turned
out every day unless the weather is unusually severe.
Boarders provide their own insulated turnout blankets,
rainsheets, flymasks, and flyspray, which are used as needed.
Boarders are
required to keep their horses up to date on shots, worming, hoof care,
and dental care. They may engage their own
veterinarian and farrier, or use the professionals who regularly come
to the barn. An excellent equine dentist comes to
the barn twice a year to check the horses’ teeth and float them as
needed.
FairHaven Farm
is open 365 days per year, and boarders are always welcome to spend
time with their horses.
