About Rebecca
Rebecca
Dichter is a 15 year horse industry veteran. As a junior she specialized
in bringing along young horses, and successfully competed them on the
local through "A" circuits in hunters, jumpers, and equitation.
Rebecca holds a BS in Animal Science from UMass, Amherst. During her
time there, she co-founded, and later co-captained the UMass Polo Team.
She also served as a teaching assistant to
riding director, Jerry Schurink during his "Breaking and Training" class
Rebecca went on to work for Janie Weber of Stepping Stone Farm,
Ridgefield, CT, for 6 years. Rebecca ran the summer camp and lesson
program where she taught 75 students weekly. Her abilities as an
instructor run the gamut from pre-school to adult, leadline to Jr.
Jumper.
And before making the move back to MA to be with her fiance, Rebecca
spent 6 mos in Southern California working for Keri Kampsen & Joe Thorpe
of Sovereign Place and Monarch International as their "pony specialist."
With her help, Monarch International's Cardiff Mardi Gras claimed honors
as the No. 3 Small Pony Hunter in the country.
Today, Rebecca runs the school lesson program & summer camp at
Newbury
Farm in Littleton, MA, for Cory Hardy & Jean Sheptoff. Rebecca also
works with the Groton Pony Clubbers on Thurday evenings.
Rebecca has always had in
interest in alternative therapies. For years, she has treated her own
horses to regular massages, and has reaped the benefits of their
enjoyment, and faster progression. Rebecca received her certification
in equine sports massage from Equissage, in Leesburg, VA. Equissage is
the leading equine massage school in the country, having graduated more
than 10,000 students during their nearly 20 year existance. Rebecca is
thrilled to be able to improve her client's horse's quality of life
while giving back to the animals that have enriched her life.
In her "spare" time, Rebecca enjoys spending time with her 2 Aussies and
1 Fiance, as well as traveling, and photography.
