Pegasus Dreamer
is 31 year old Gelding Morgan/TB cross. Saved my
Friends life after a near fatal auto accident 15
years ago leaving her in acoma with body trauma
and traumatic brain injury. Through the Bond
with Pegasus and helped my friend through
Equine Assisted Therapy. She is now able to
walk and talk. This horse has not only been
patient with her he has helped so many others
through EAT programs. Pegasus is a 1000 pound
four legged therapist. He is available for
Physical and Emotional Therapy.
He is patient, gentle and one of the Calmest
Therapy Horses We have ever encountered. He has
been a wonderful all around horse standing
calmly for mounted or un mounted therapy. He is
wonderful at games to promote positive
reinforcement to those in need. He helps to aid
those with self-confidence, self esteem and even
our veterans with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress
Disorder). This horse has the heart and soul of
a saint.
He has been dressed up as a bridesmaid, been in
local horse shows with our special needs clients
and in parades has carried our American Flag .
He allows anyone to hug and lay on him. He has
given his life to help not just myself but
aiding others with our "Caring With Combs"
Programs and has been the foundation and guide
to what characteristics one would consider in
their search for a Therapeutic Horse in an
Equine Assisted
Riding
Facility. This horse has made people laugh and
cry from happiness as he provides EAT at
different levels with his accepting
nature. He is Loved by all Not just our Staff,
but by our volunteers and Clients.
Healing With Horses Therapeutic Riding Facility
has over 50 years combined experience. We offer
"Healing With Horses" Therapeutic Riding mounted
or unmounted in the styles of Dressage, English
or Western which includes Equine Safety and
General Horse Care. We bring the New World of
Horsemanship to YOU. We are about Emotional,
Psychological, Physical and Spiritual Healing
which includes Recovery of any kind.
We teach people of all ages and walks of life to
learn how to bond or ride horses. We offer a
wide variety of Session Packages and Lessons
Packages in one half to one hour sessions. We
design a complete package of sessions for
individuals with our team of Counselors,
Physicians and Nurses working side by side with
our Advanced, Experienced and Certified Staff
who all offer a variety of Unique Equine
Backgrounds. With the help of our Four-Legged
Therapists who are gentle, well mannered and
patient with Children, Beginners and Experienced
Riders.

About Therapeutic
Riding
Therapeutic riding is the
use of equine activities for individuals with physical or mental
disabilities to improve muscle tone, motor development, balance,
posture, coordination and overall emotional well-being. Riders can
experience a sense of independence that they may not be able to
experience anywhere else.
Most therapeutic riding
centers are non-profit, and therefore, they rely heavily on
volunteers. If you have the time to give, check out a TR center
near you!
TR centers are often on the
lookout for qualified therapy horses. An ideal therapy horse is
quiet, patient and priceless. If you 'd like to donate a horse you think might
be suitable for such a program, contact your local therapeutic riding
center. Not every horse can be a therapy horse, but those who can
will find that life as a TR horse can be quite good!
